I’m in Seattle. All alone–for four whole days and three whole nights. There are days at home when the idea of such a nice break sounds heavenly. But honestly, I’m a little lonely. I really miss my family! Funny how that happens. I am trying to enjoy myself though. It’s certainly a nice, quiet time for me to refresh and get some perspective.

I haven’t been in a city since we moved back to Juneau in December. It’s crazy how shocking it is to be around so many people in one place again! I didn’t realize how accustomed I had become to being in the sticks. I do love a good city though: the culture, the anonymity, the sounds… and all the options. As long as I have the ultimate option of going back home to the wild.

I am not entirely here for pleasure but I do plan on a little shopping, a little museum hopping, and some serious eating of fine cuisine. Not to mention a whole lot of sleep in my hotel room. Sleep? What’s that!?

    Can’t wait to see you in one of those gowns once you get back. I think the teal would best accentuate your lovely rubber boots, don’t you?

      Thanks, Annie! I flew over you guys today. The pilot announced we were over Prince Rupert, but I was on the wrong side of the plane to see. Bummer! And I would never be able to decide between these dresses. I was thinking the yellow, but the teal would indeed be a nice touch to my boots–because God knows I’ll never wear heals :)

    Seattle for four days by yourself! oh try not to miss them too much~ i’m the same way but i don’t think it’s the way to be :)
    and eat lots of deliciousness. i think that’s why cities were invented. pretty positive.

    I thought I was the only one who would love an ALONE vacation. You lucky girl! Enjoy the the “anonymity”, the flower markets and the original Starbucks. :) I heart big cities.

    That market looks inviting, the food looks enticing, the flowers are very delightful, the musicians look…(I can’t think of a good rhyme?) those dresses are hideously fabulous and what’s better than a quiet hotel room with a glass of wine! Overall I hope you are having a wonderful time Jenny! Love ya.

    yep I thought I was the only one too ! thinking it may be a way to re-fuel & get back to your inner self for a little while…
    I’m happy to read you have 4 days to yourself to enjoy ! maybe to meet a couple of friends, too… I’ve been to Seattle once but for the day only (i’d love to go again) so I’m looking forward to seeing your photos — not to mention one of you in one if these gowns ! :)
