mountain goats and spring

A spur-of-the-moment hike out to Nugget Falls. Mountain goats everywhere! And the signs of spring in the wildlife and plants just as obvious as the melting snow.

This is shaping up to be a stellar spring. The weather has been phenomenal.

    what a gorgeous spot to hike. and mountain goats! i would love to see some of those one day. glad your spring is coming along – yesterday here was very cold and then it snowed again, but the first day of April has dawned bright and sunny.

      I always get so caught off guard when suddenly it’s spring. It’s been so nice here… it seems unusual, but if I look back, it is usually nice here at this time of year. The mountain goats are very cool. I would love to see a stuffed version!!

    i would love to see mountain goats, do they stay high up on the scree or come down lower?

    spring is in the air here too!! cooler than normal, like k mentioned but lovely nonetheless.

      Thank you! They do stay up higher, usually. This is definitely the lowest I have ever seen them, but I guess they normally hang around this point at this time of spring. Typically, I see them as little dots up in the high mountains above downtown. Last summer, we saw a pack of over 30 while we were up hiking above the treeline. SO freaking amazing.
